Do you have problems deciding on a scrapbooking layout?
You have your photos, papers, cutter, pens, pencils, stamps, inks and punches ready; everything you need to get started but yet you sit and look at this blank page in front of you not knowing where to put this picture or that picture. Should I put it in the corner, in the middle, on the side, on the bottom?
You lay the pictures out randomly on the cardstock and decide to come back to it later on, thinking maybe a great idea will come to you.
How many times have we all been in this same situation? You find yourself using the same layout over and over. Sure you are getting your pages and your stories in your scrapbook but they all look the same. This is supposed to be fun, not work.
It is human nature to do something over and over when you find that it works for you but it does get boring. It's okay to do the same scrapbook layout but wouldn't you just LOVE to be like the professionals or the artists and just come up with a new design on your own?
Sometimes You Just Run Out Of Ideas...
Imagine having the vision to just look at that blank page and see in your mind what it will look like completed and each page be different. Unfortunately, not everyone has an artists' vision and trial and error is the only way to proceed. But, that's okay though. Your scrapbooking hobby does not have to be perfect. It only has to be a reflection of YOU and your subjects and how you interpret that photo or event.
Scrapbooking is supposed to be fun and an enjoyable hobby, while at the same time telling the stories of your family and your life. If you are like I am and countless others who have become addicted to scrapbooking, you have many old photos that you need to put in your scrapbooks to preserve them and the sooner the better.
As you work with more and more different layouts and the many, many different ways of embellishing a page, you will gain more experience, more confidence and the Creative Ideas will begin to flow more freely.
